In response to the worst fire disaster that strucked New South Wales in 46 years, expected to go even worse today, Dompet Dhuafa Australia Ltd (DDA) have launched a Bushfire Relief Appeal.
An group nicknamed the Indonesian Aid Consortium is also created, consisting of many Indonesian diaspora organisations. Through Indonesian Aid Consortium, DDA have planned to give a hands-on assistance in fire affected areas; such as manning evacuation centres and serving meals to residents and emergency personnel. They are also will act as ‘listening ears’ to many residents who are affected by the events.
As at 7pm, Wednesday, 23rd Oct 2013, DDA personnels and volunteers will stand by in the following locations:
- Blue Mountains areas (exact locations please contact us)
- Springwood
- North Richmond
The funds collected from DDA’s Bushfire Appeal will be used to support those affected by the disaster.
