Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Managing funds for orphans is a noble, because the orphans will get a good social security. Moreover, if it is managed professionally.

But as a manager, it is better if you make a proposal about the management plan that you have to manage those funds for the donors who have set aside the money, then you explain it in front of them.

With this transparency, you will gain more trust from them. Because they feel safe and confident that their funds would be more useful.

And it does not matter if you attach the expenses to manage the orphans in that proposal, such as office expenditures, employee salary and so on. Certainly people who donate their will increasingly believe.

Al-Quran has justified that it is allowed to us to take the orphan’s property, however in one condition, those are all used only for the sake of the orphans and of course as a fair rate.

And do not approach the orphan’s property except to improve it, until he was an adult. (QS Al-An’am: 152)

Do not approach to the orphan’s property except to improve it better until he was an adult, and fulfill the promise; actually that promise accountability would be asked. (Surat al-Isra ‘: 34)

Essentially, it is okay to use the orphans fund for the type of business that will provide multiple benefits to the orphans. But remember in these conditions :

1. With the permission and consent of the donor, if the money comes from donors.  Certainly you have earned the trust of them.

2. Making a reasonable, clear, and visible cash flow.

3. You are skilled in business and ready to change if there is a risk of loss.

4. Always provide reports and audits to donors and cheating or dishonest are prohibited. Because once property of an orphan taken in by you outside, then evil will befall you.
