Floods in Southern Bandung, DD Provided Relief

BANDUNG, INDONESIA – Dompet Dhuafa returned to Bandung to provide assistance to flood victims in Baleendah District, Southern Bandung, Monday (8/4).

“Assistance provided to the victims of the flood, which is the third time in 2013, comes in the forms of the distribution of ready meals, mineral water, warm shelters and conducting trauma healing centre for children in Baleendah, Southern Bandung,” said Asep Benny, DMC (Disaster Management Centre) Dompet Dhuafa Response Manager.

Asep added, Dompet Dhuafa also dispatched rescue teams with rubber boats to help the evacuation of residents trapped by the flood.

While DMC Dompet Dhuafa’s Information and Communication coordinator, Sigit Raharjo, said any form of assistance is needed by the victims of the flood which happened on Sunday (7/4)

“The floods covered three districts of Southern Bandung. The presence of the volunteers will definitely accelerate and greatly assist the evacuation of residents and the provision of emergency services, “he said.

Dompet Dhuafa also opened an emergency response post to help in the distribution of aid at Jl. Jaksa Naranata, RT 08 RW 10, Kel.Baleendah, Kec. Baleendah, Southern Bandung.

“Donors can directly channel assistance or aids for the victims through emergency response post that we opened,” he said
