Dompet Dhuafa Open Trauma Healing for Kids in Shelter

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – trauma healing programs for children affected by flooding is a serious concern for Dompet Dhuafa addition to providing logistical assistance to refugees.

Children who are long in the shelter did not go to school to get attention so as not psychologically affected by the flood.

Corporate Communication Supervisor Dompet Dhuafa, Amir Hasan said in Jakarta child is not affected by severe psychological disaster like an earthquake or volcanic eruption. But living in shelters for long periods can lead to boredom.

“Environmental conditions are also not healthy, children must be considered”, he said when contacted by Reuters on Monday (22/1).

Dompet Dhuafa, said Amir, has organized several activities for children affected by the flood. Dompet Dhuafa hold cheerful tales, movies and games education in several shelters. “Today in the post Total Persada Tangerang and Bekasi Muara Gembong. Refugees in the shelter the other’s back,” he added.

Dompet Dhuafa also opened a Sekolah Ceria, a temporary school for the children who missed the school. The Fellow of Dompet Dhuafa Sholarships deployed as teachers. “We did two days, interspersed with fun activities,” he said. (/nra)
