Dompet Dhuafa Distribute Food Aid in Rakhine
Rakhine- Dompet Dhuafa distributes humanitarian aid to the victims of Myanmar humanitarian crisis in the city of Sittwe, the State of Rakhine on Saturday (10/12).
“We distribute food assistance to more than 3,500 people in the two regions. First in the Muslim refugee, Dar Paing camp and the village of Aung Mingalar”, said Humanitarian Team Coordinator, Fadilah Rachman.
Mr. Rachman said that the refugees in Dar Paing camp and villagers of Aung Mingalar urgently need food staple. Since the humanitarian crisis in Myanmar turbulent 2012, life became difficult. They live completely within limits.
Throughout the monitoring of Dompet Dhuafa humanitarian team, conditions of refugees and villagers in both two areas are raising of concern. They are isolated and can not do anything. Their lives relying on assistance from humanitarian agencies.
Receiving Dompet Dhuafa’s assistance, the people thanked the donors that have been concerned about them. As spoken by Dil Muhammad, survivors in Aung Mingalar, the aid is very precious and sorely needed.
The same thing also is spoken of Tei Mo, refugees in camps Dar Paing. “Now there is relief from Indonesia; we thank you very much. We are very delighted. Assistance provided much needed by us. Hopefully not up here. Next time come again to you for help, “he said.
Humanitarian Aid Diplomacy
The distribution of humanity aid in Rakhine implemented after Dompet Dhuafa Humanitarian Team through the efforts of communication and diplomacy with Indonesian Ambassador to Myanmar, Ito Sumardi Djunisanyoto and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi on Wednesday (7/12) in Yangon.
It supported with the meeting agreement between Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi with State Counselor, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar on Tuesday (6/12). Foreign Minister Retno submit a request access for humanitarian aid. This request was well received and considered positively by the local government.
